Using the Combination Selection Window
Use the Combination Selection window to select a recognized option combination or futures spread, or to separately define an order leg by leg.
Use the By Template tab to select a recognized order and define the necessary parameters. Select the combination order from the Type drop-down. Fields on the worksheet are adjusted according to your choices. Move through the worksheet from left to right, making your selection for each active drop-down, identified by a boxed value with a down arrow to the right. Check Request market data for legs to display a market data line for each leg of the order on your trading screen.

Leg Definition |
Select values to define a specific leg of the combination order. The values displayed in the selection fields are context-sensitive. To ensure that all information is valid, the value in each field is locked in as you move to the next field. To modify criteria, click Reset. |

Select the expiry for the leg you are constructing. |
- Right |
Select the right for the leg you are constructing (call or put). |
- Strike |
Select the strike price for the leg you are constructing. |
- Ratio |
Select the relative number of contracts for the leg you are constructing. To help determine the ratio for a specific combination order, use Interactive Analytics. First, edit the Interactive Analytics option model, then view model outputs using option analytics. |

Select the side for the leg you are constructing. (buy or sell). |
Add Leg button |
Adds the leg you just defined to the combination order. The leg displays in the table below the buttons. |
Reset button |
Clear all values from the Leg Definition fields above. |
Help button |
View field descriptions. |
Table |
The table displays all legs of your combination order as you add them. |
Delete Leg button |
Deletes the selected leg from the table. |
Request all legs checkbox |
If checked, displays each leg of the order on a separate market data line under the combination description on your trading page, and creates a market data line for the underlying instrument if you don't already have it on your page. |
OK/Cancel buttons |
Click OK to save the combination order and display it on your trading page. The current order is highlighted on the trading page, and named if the combination you created was recognized. Otherwise it is called "Comb." |
